7. Make it a priority to have original content. If you are not sure about articles, then just write editorials or short scripts with news updates, interesting tips, and product reviews.
8. Always proofread your content. You dont want your ezine to look like a 10-year old child has done it.

This is all well and good, but the things that hold many people back from trying to build a list are often cost related. It costs money for a professional autoresponder – usually a monthly recurring charge, and it’s not always easy to persuade people to sign up for yet another list, and it’s no simple task to drive traffic to your opt-in forms either.
This is where maintaining a blog and your own website(s) becomes very important. Placing your opt-in form in as many places as possible will increase the chances of tempting new subscribers. You will need something to offer them in exchange for their information too and a free gift of some kind is usually the way to go.
It is a lot of work, and this is the other thing that puts a lot of people off. In terms of return on investment however, the work and the costs really are worthwhile.

The marketer who invests in the primary software and hosting stands to gain the most of course, as he or she will reap the benefits of the viral effect in spectacular fashion, but it doesn’t detract from the benefits for everyone else.

Harvard Drug Research Fraud and Cover-up: How Off-Label Profiteering Works
Drug company money influences and corrupts research. That is a given.
What is less understood is why drug manufacturers spend billions for research on off-label uses for their products – uses that were never cleared with the FDA when the drug was submitted for approval.
Off-label use allows drug companies to get “through the back door” what they could never, and I mean never, get away with by going directly to the FDA for approval for a new use of a product – what is known today as an off-label use.
You would hope that researchers wouldn’t corrupt the commercial experimentation of a new, or off-label, use of a drug to treat children by covering up their consulting fees from Big Pharma. But that’s what happened.
More important than what happened is why it happened and at the bottom of all this is a terrible mistake the U.S. has made in allowing the exploitation of off-label use.
The devil is in the details, so here is the story as it has unfolded.
Leading Harvard professors studying off-label uses, the gold mine of the drug industry, have violated National Institute of Health reporting requirements when more than $10,000 has been received from a subject company, according to the New York Times, “Researchers Fail to Reveal Drug Pay” June 8, 2008. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/06/08/us/08conflict.html?em&ex=1213070400&en=9971013dfd33290a&ei=508720say20are%20sorry&st=cse isn’t enough.
If Harvard doesn’t fire them, it will be complicit in the cover-up.
Throw them off campus. Ring the bell loud and clear that no matter how renown or stellar, if you don’t play by the rules, you can’t play at all. And the NIH should forever ban them from receiving grants.
Don’t throw out the baby with the bath water. Once appropriate punishment has been served, give these researchers a chance to polish their tarnished reputations. Allow them to conduct research under the supervision of a responsible administrator who knows that “veritas,” means truth, accuracy, honesty, and uprightness and that it’s more than just a motto.

Blogs are easy to set up quickly and can be on any topic imaginable. It is a good idea to set up a blog to cater to a particular niche market or to have one for your existing site. Combined with the use of RSS (Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary), your blogs online content can be turned into a RSS feed and syndicated (distributed) pretty easily. RSS creates a simple headline that if clicked on leads the reader to the full story. All the reader needs to do is to subscribe to your RSS feeds through a little orange button from your site with the aid of a RSS feed reader. Blog posts are usually short and if you post often enough, spiders from the search engines will come crawling more often.
Article marketing is simply writing articles about your niche area and submitting them to online article directories and ezine newsletters for publicity. At the bottom of the article, you are allowed to insert your authors resource box. This is where you write a few promotional lines about yourself and your site and include your site link.
You can use your blog posts to link to the articles that you have written. A good size article is usually longer at about 300-600 words compared to a blog post. By referencing your articles in your blog, you are giving them more publicity mileage. In fact, I highly recommend the use of article marketing to generate publicity for your site. It is almost free, save for article distribution costs that you may decide to purchase instead of submitting to the sites manually.
Many online article directories also offer RSS syndication from their sites. This provides an avenue for online visitors to subscribe to the RSS feed for a particular category that you have submitted your article to. Chances are some of them may also be looking for RSS feeds to be incorporated into their sites for their own website visitors. Others may simply be very interested in this category for their own personal consumption. A good example is if your article is on constipation and you submit your article under the category of health. A webmaster may be on the lookout for RSS feeds for his health site. Or someone who is highly constipated may be particularly interested in what you post in your blog. Through the authors resource box in your article, they can find your site and the RSS subscription button to your blog posts and articles pretty easily.
Thus, RSS has the potential to give your blog great exposure to a wide audience of subscribers building a bigger readership in less time. If you also optimize your blog content and the articles that you write for your site at the same time with a good keyword strategy, then you will be assured of free search engine traffic. Lots of traffic plus huge readership can only mean greater profits!
